Tokyo is also the region's hub for access to bandwidth cable systems and is regarded as the dominant market in respect to emerging wireless Internet access technology.

Tokyo IBX Center

Equinix operates two IBX centers in Tokyo, the Heiwajima IBX and the Shinagawa IBX. Both IBX centers are accessible via major roads and public transportation. The Heiwajima IBX occupies an area of 42,000 square feet (3,900 square meters) while the Shinagawa IBX is measured at 74,000 square feet (6,800 square meters).

Local support includes the Local Operations Center (LOC), sales and other administrative support such as finance. The Equinix’s Asia Pacific Network Operation Center (NOC) located in Singapore also provides localized support for Tokyo customers.
